Sieve Shakers for Testing Sieves Laboratory Use - Grain size & Particle Size Analysis

A sieve shaker is a machine which is known to automate the agitation of particles for their separation and their distribution as per their sizes. This is done to meet quality assurance and quality control needs. When compared with the manual sieve shaking procedure its benefits include accuracy, consistency, and repeatable separations for particle sizing. Besides, it also saves ample testing time

Bionics Scientific Technologies (P) Ltd. is one of the reputed Sieve Shaker manufacturers/suppliers and is headquartered in Delhi, India. With more than 35 years of experience and ISO and CE Certified manufacturer, we are known to offer only its best quality to customers. The company is acclaimed as the top manufacturer and supplier of readymade and customized products as per the client’s requirement

Ideally, it is used to separate particles by allowing it to pass through series of specified chambers with mesh filters. To complete the separation, this is followed by the agitation of the sample. Based on the equipment, there are choices for sieving both liquid and solid samples.

How does It work?

This is used to find out the particle size and its distribution of coarse and fine aggregates by sieving. It consists of a power unit, a cradle to hold the sieves, and a base. Also, the cradle has a platform that is fastened to the lower ends of the two supporting vertical rods. Its upper ends are shock-mounted to horizontal support that’s free for pivoting about its mounting. A retaining ring, a sieve holder, and nuts on the vertical supporting rods hold the top bar inflexibly against the sieves’ nest.

The number of sieve in a sieve stack varies between 1-18 and consists is the aftereffect of fitting each sieve to the Sieve Stack to be utilized in a given molecule size analysis into the one above. The sieve with the biggest mesh holes is at the top with each resulting sieve of a tighter cross-section size than the one above it.

How do you use a sieve shaker?

It is used to separate particles based on their size. The process is done by passing particles of various sizes via a series of chambers that have mesh filters. The sample is agitated that results in complete separation.

What can be separated by sieving?

Sieving can be used to separate things from the mixture so that they can be used separately. It separates particles of different sizes.

What's the difference between a sieve and a filter?

Sieving is a process of solid materials with the help of a sieve whereas filtering is the process of separating liquid material using filter paper.

What is the principle of sieving?

The sample to be separated is kept to the vertical or horizontal motion during the process of sieving. This results in the relative movement between the sieve and the particles. Then the particles are either passed through the sieve mesh or remained on the surface of the sieve based on its size.

How do you interpret sieve results?

The sieve analysis defines the distribution of total particles based on their size within the sample. This determines compliance with the production control requirements, design, and verification specifications.

What is the difference between sieving and winnowing?

Sieving is a process of separating fine particles from bigger particles. This is done by allowing the finer/smaller particles to pass through the sieve’s holes. This enables the bigger particles to retain in the sieve. In contrast, Winnowing is a process of separation of solid to solid particles based on the weight and size. This separates lighter and heavier mixture components by blowing air or wind.
