Electricity enters the system via a moulded-case circuit breaker wired to the building mains. A digital PID controller, calibrated to hold 20 C, governs the heating and cooling circuits. After programming, the apparatus typically runs continuously for five days. Once the target value is dialed in, the refrigeration compressor engages without delay. An axial fan then distributes air evenly throughout the chamber. The temperature sensor relays the actual reading to the PID loop, which adjusts outputs so the set point remains stable for the duration of the experiment.
