Vertical Autoclave Manufacturer in India

Top-Loading Steam Sterilizers for Laboratories

Bionics Scientific is a vertical autoclave manufacturer in India supplying top-loading steam sterilizers for laboratories, hospitals, research institutes, pharmaceutical facilities and quality-control departments. Models are available in 22, 40, 50, 95 and 175 litre chamber capacities, allowing buyers to select equipment according to load type, batch size and available installation space.

Each system uses saturated steam under pressure for compatible heat- and moisture-resistant loads. Available configurations include double-wall, triple-wall and stainless-steel GMP construction, with digital control, radial locking, a safety valve, pressure interlock and water-level protection. Buyers comparing other chamber formats can also view our complete range of autoclave sterilizers.

What is a Vertical Autoclave?

A vertical autoclave is a cylindrical, top-loading pressure vessel designed for steam sterilization. Water is heated to generate steam, air is displaced from the chamber and a compatible load is exposed to a defined combination of steam, temperature, pressure and time. The correct cycle must be selected and validated for the load, packaging and facility procedure; chamber pressure alone does not prove sterilization.

How Does a Vertical Autoclave Work?

A vertical autoclave heats water through an immersion heater to generate steam. Air must be displaced so steam can contact accessible load surfaces. After the programmed sterilization temperature is reached, the controller maintains the specified exposure conditions for the selected time. At cycle completion, pressure returns to a safe level before the lid is opened and the load is handled according to the facility procedure.

Components of Vertical Autoclave

The main components include stainless steel chamber, lid with radial locking, silicon rubber gasket, immersion heater, pressure gauge, automatic pressure switch, steam release valve, water outlet valve, low water indicator, safety valve, pedal lifting device and digital timer. Optional upgrades include PLC control, printer, USB interface, chart recorder, GMP construction and documentation support.

Vertical vs Horizontal Autoclave

Feature Vertical Autoclave Horizontal Autoclave
Loading Top loading Front loading
Best For Labs, clinics, research centers Large hospitals, pharma and bulk sterilization
Space Compact floor area Requires more space
Capacity Small to medium loads Medium to large loads

Vertical Autoclave Price in India

Vertical autoclave price in India depends on capacity, chamber material, construction type, automation level, documentation, accessories and customization. Basic laboratory models are cost-effective, while GMP, PLC based and fully stainless steel models are priced higher. Vertical Autoclave FAQs

What is a Vertical Autoclave?

A Vertical Autoclave is a top-loading steam sterilizer that uses saturated steam under pressure to sterilize laboratory glassware, surgical instruments, culture media and other heat-resistant materials.

How does a Vertical Autoclave work?

A Vertical Autoclave heats water to generate saturated steam, removes or displaces air from the chamber and exposes a compatible load to the validated combination of temperature, pressure and time.

What temperature does a Vertical Autoclave use?

The listed models support sterilization settings from 121°C to 134°C. The correct temperature and exposure time depend on the load, packaging, cycle design and validated operating procedure.

What pressure is used in a Vertical Autoclave?

The specification lists a standard working pressure of 15–17 PSI, with an upgrade option up to 30 PSI. Pressure supports the required steam temperature, but pressure alone does not confirm sterilization.

Where is a Vertical Autoclave used?

Vertical Autoclaves are widely used in hospitals, microbiology laboratories, pharmaceutical industries, biotechnology laboratories, research institutes and food testing laboratories.

What materials can be sterilized in a Vertical Autoclave?

Typical loads include laboratory glassware, culture media, stainless-steel tools, liquids and dressings that are compatible with heat, moisture and the selected steam cycle. Heat- or moisture-sensitive items require another validated method.

What capacities are available in Vertical Autoclaves?

Bionics Scientific manufactures Vertical Autoclaves in 22 L, 40 L, 50 L, 95 L and 175 L capacities with double wall, triple wall and GMP construction options.

What is the difference between a Vertical Autoclave and a Horizontal Autoclave?

A Vertical Autoclave is top-loading and ideal for laboratories and hospitals with limited space, while a Horizontal Autoclave offers front loading and is suitable for bulk sterilization.

How long does a Vertical Autoclave sterilization cycle take?

The specification lists 25–30 minutes for sterilization, but total cycle time can be longer because heating, air removal, exposure, exhaust, cooling and optional drying depend on the load and selected program.

What information is required for a Vertical Autoclave quotation?

Provide the load type, required chamber capacity, cycle temperature, working pressure, construction material, automation level, electrical supply, accessories, documentation, quantity and delivery location.
